Major Snowfall Creates Extended Lake Tahoe Ski Season

Early 2017 has witnessed a return of abundant snowfall to previously parched regions in central and northern California. As reported in the Washington Post in late February, snow packs reached depths of up to 500 inches, with so much occurring in Squaw Valley that ski patrol huts and chairlifts were buried.

This was caused by the “atmospheric river” phenomena, where concentrated pockets of moisture ran through the sky and dumped loads of snow throughout the area. Short-term equipment usage issues aside, this is a windfall for the Squaw Valley resort, which announced that it would be open through the July 4th weekend. Since the resort opened in 1962, this extended season has only been possible on four occasions.

SaaS platforms enable companies to deliver their applications via the Internet. Both emerging and established enterprises are increasingly adopting SaaS as a simpler, more efficient method of service delivery.
